In favor of the mountain's fresh air, the menu at Il Caminetto leans toward heartier tuscan fare. Under the direction of Executive Chef Ivo Marinov, the kitchen turns out a wonderful venison carpaccio, which should put you in a Jack London kind of mood. The menu is rich in pastas-the lasagna al forno alternates flavors of Roma tomatoes, noodles, and beef, with Parmigiano-Reggiano and nutmeg bringing up the high notes. Husky eaters might want to tackle the consistently delicious rack of lamb, costate d'agnello estrucca, served with a simple crust of rosemary and garlic and sided up to roasted autumn root vegetables. The wine list is long on Italian reds, as you would expect, and little more to point on whites..."
