| Built in 1763 by John Rutledge, a signer of
the US Constitution, the property is located approximately three blocks
from Charleston's historic market area. It's also two miles from
downtown Charleston and the city marina, five miles from Patriots Point,
12 miles from Folly Beach, and 15 miles from Sullivan's Island.
The antebellum home is now an elegant bed-and-breakfast where guests
can enjoy afternoon tea, evening turndown with chocolates, morning
pastry delivery, and wine and sherry in ballroom where patriots,
statesmen, and presidents had met. Complimentary wireless internet
access is also available.
The inn has 19 rooms in three buildings. All have antiques, historic
reproductions, and a variety of amenities.
