Historic Pimlico Race Course, home of the Preakness Stakes, first opened its doors on October 25, 1870, making it the second oldest racetrack in the nation behind Saratoga, which debuted in 1864 in upstate New York.
140 acres, entirely within Baltimore City limits

Parking - General Parking is free (Preakness Way and Rogers Avenue) except Preakness Day.

Track - 1 mile loam oval; Six-furlong and 1 1/4 mile chutes; Length of stretch from last turn to finish line = 1,152 feet; Track = 70 feet wide; Turf Course = 7/8 of a mile inside main track

Hayward and Winner avenues. (410) 542-9400.

From south of Baltimore, take 95 North to 695 West (Baltimore Beltway). Take Exit 18 East, Lochearn (Liberty Rd.) Make a left turn at the 7th traffic light, Northern Parkway. Make a right turn on Park Heights Ave., make a left turn on Hayward Ave. and proceed straight into the track.

From north of Baltimore, take 95 South to 695 West (Baltimore Beltway.) Take exit 83 South and follow to Northern Parkway West and follow the signs.

Regular Racing Days: Turn left on Winner Ave. Go to the second intersection - Hayward Ave. - and make a left into the Pimlico facility.

Preakness Day ONLY: Turn left on Park Heights Ave. Go to next light - Hayward Ave., turn left. Follow signs to parking.
